Happy 1 month birthday, sweet baby Gibson!

The birth announcements have been ready to be mailed for weeks now...not sure why I haven't mailed them yet. Oh yeah, maybe cause I need to buy more stamps...or cause I've been busy with my sweet newborn.

One month ago today we met our little Gibson! His birth is getting sweeter in my mind as the weeks go by...To those of you that care:I promise I plan on sharing the story, eventually.

What a joy he's been to all of us. We're so thankful to our heavenly father for making us Gibson's parents.

In my words what he has meant [so far] to each one of us...

Gregory [his big brother]

he thinks Gibson is the cutest little baby ever! He is always wanting to kiss his face and touch his hands [mom and dad are always saying "gentle gentle"]

he sees a future wrestling buddy... he says, "I can't wait to beat Gibson up"...for those of you that know Greg, you can vouch that he only means "play beat up"

his future roommate. He can't wait til he gets sissy's top bunk and Gibson moves from his crib to the bottom bunk [this will be a while... sorry, buddy].


Gwyneth [his big sissy]

She's his second mommy [even though we never let her pick him up] She often asks anyway. I guess she knows one day we'll give in. But she does hold him often with our supervision.

She loves him so much already. Everyday after school she tells him how much she missed him...I don't even hear that:( haha

Even though Gwyneth wants a sister someday I know she is so thankful for her new little brother. I know how she feels...Even though I had a sister 2 years younger than me, I always wanted a "little" sister...and was a tad disappointed every time my parents had another boy [which was 5 times]. But I love them all so much!


The Daddy:

I'm so grateful for my husband. He's such a hands on daddy. So quick to pick Gibson up or change him without ever being asked. I know he would be willing to feed him even through the night...but since I exclusively breastfeed, there isn't a reason to [other than my exhaustion]. lol But I do plan on pumping soon...mommy's need to be able to leave the house [alone] every once in a while. We'll see if Gibson takes a bottle. Neither one of our kiddos ever did. I mean, ever. Went from boob to sippy-cup.

Back to how wonderful my husband is...

he not only helped my during the labor, but is in love with the baby we made together. Talk about finishing something he started:) haha
I know that there are many dads/husbands that are not as wonderful as he is. I am truly grateful...


The Mommy:

I love my Gibson. He's such a sweet baby. I love nursing him. Even at 3:45am. Looking at his cute little face as he gets milk drunk is such a precious sight. lol
I am so blessed to get to be him mommy. I was very emotional last night...just thinking about how Gibson is already one month old...and looking at pix of Greg at this age, remembering him and how times goes by so quickly. And seeing Gwyneth in 2nd grade already. It seems like yesterday I was looking down at her little face after getting to pull her out [I had a cool doc. in Cali]...another birth I have been meaning to share}.

Gibson,

We're so glad you're part of our family! We love you so much. We are looking forward to seeing you grow and develop into your own person. We love how you already smile...We all think it's real and that each one of us can get one out of you. Maybe it's real, maybe it's not. But it's so cute! Love everything about you. You smell so yummy and we love how you enjoy your bath. Hope your tummy grows stronger soon and you stop having gassy bouts at night. We hate to see you uncomfortable. Everyday you're changing and growing. We're enjoying this time, because we know before too long you'll be a big like your sister and brother.
