we gotta let the light shine

 
While the boys and I drove to the thrift store yesterday I heard the most amazing song. It made me bawl. Luckily I was only going to a grungy thrift store, because I didn't have any makeup with me and my face had those sweet tear lines where the foundation had run off. I tried to remember some of the lyrics this morning, but for some reason couldn't find it. And I'm a google-search pro. Ended up calling one of the christian radio stations here and even the lady on the phone couldn't find it. Ran to the car to check the station (I was determined). Had it wrong. So found the right station's web-site and there it was. We Are- Kari Jobe.

 I was so touched by this song. The Lord showed me that scripture verse above last week, this song kind of confirmed it again. It's giving me a new hope and a joy. In spite of all my shortcomings and sin, in spite of how I fail all the time, in spite of my fears and my worries and my selfish and ungrateful attitude, in spite of my past. God is faithful. He wants us to shine and share what he's done for us. I'm grateful His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-24) because I always have to be refueled, I often forget how good God is and allow all the crap to rob me of joy. I'm going to let this song remind me...I hope it blesses you too.
