We've got Spring Fever {Guest Post by: Rebekah Harrison}

That gorgeous girl is my baby sis.
Don't get any caaa-razzzy ideas about her being like WAY younger than me.
You're not?
  Well, good .
'cause she isn't. {big smile}
She's in the 30s club too!:)
And have I told you guys how AWESOME that club is?
Well, it IS! Being young is so overrated.;)

Oh and here is her adorable little family.
I am blessed with a great brother in law and JUST look at my little nephew, Shiloh.
Oh, I miss this family so much!

So my sis recently did a complete overhaul to her closet.
Hearing her story encouraged me to do the same.

(added to my long to-do list? check)

So I asked her to do a guest post. And she did! Thanks, Sis!
I hope you feel the same sense of encouragement!
Read on.

Time to Purge

I live in Texas and Texas rarely sees snow or ice, but when it does,
everything shuts down and no one leaves their houses.
Unless of course...
they need something really important,
like something to fill a mouth watering craving they're having
because their bored and have cabin fever.
Yeah, it's a great feeling, really it is.

Well, this happened about three weeks ago here in Texas.
But, during this week long freeze, something went really wrong.
It was a cold, icy late night. After midnight, actually. My 12 month old son was sound asleep, my husband and I were snuggled warm on the couch watching TV, when suddenly we hear a very loud rumble in the dining room, we rush to our feet to see what it was, when all of a sudden water rushes through our ceiling like a waterfall over our dining room table, pouring in, filling up our second floor of our town house.

It was not a fun night to say the least.
You see, Texas wasn't really prepared for such cold weather, so when the pipes froze it caused some sort of burst in the fire sprinklers flooding houses, businesses and even churches all over the metroplex.

Anyway, we got out of there, thankfully and with very little damage.
Only the second floor had the water, which was the kitchen, living and dining area.
We moved and have renters insurance so nothing has been lost through it that can't be replaced.

But through this crazy thing, I had a strong sense that I needed to purge before going into the new place.

I was on a mission...

I would say it was close to 20 trash bags of purging that took place and most of it was from my closet.
Shoes, clothes, bags you name it.
Oh yes, donated it all to goodwill too!
No time for a last minute clothes swap...stuff needed to go and go fast.

After all that, I decided I needed to organize my closet and start over fresh. So I did. Got rid of all the wirer hangers and replaced them with plastic ones, got organizers, baskets, door racks, hooks, etc...

Oh it felt so good to get rid of stuff!
It's been almost three weeks and I haven't missed anything!
Don't be afraid to get rid of stuff!
Be free!
Don't let stuff have you and crowed your life.
My closet has nothing on the floors now, so my 12 month old can climb in there and I'm not worried he'll put my shoes in his mouth!
Ahhhh it's so nice!
So what are you waiting for?
Be inspired!
Don't wait for a flood either!
Get organized, now!

Thanks Sis, for letting me blog on your site!
Love you!  Your the best! Muah! (kiss)
