This is the third trip the kids have been on...the first two we stayed in a cabin. From the phone pix he sent me, looks like they had a blast!
I missed them so much! I have come to the conclusion that ALL the break I need is a monthly date with the hubby (usually it's every other month) and my bi-monthly trip to Target...alone. Other than that I'm good. I love being around my kids and my husband. I missed the noise, oddly enough.
The baby and I did get out last night for a few hours. We ventured out to Annapolis again. Went to the goodwill and the mall. I wanted to do some scoping out for fashion project someone asked me to do.
Must say, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Found some treasures too!
Gibson was a doll. I fed him and changed him twice. I'm really liking how some malls have nursing/feeding rooms in the family bathrooms now. Makes going to the mall so much more enjoyable.
I plan on sharing the frugal fashion finds I found this week! They're good ones!
So about the picture...I received my long awaited keurig coffee maker from my hubby and parents this past Christmas. Sadly, I will admit, I haven't used it all that much.
For three reasons...
1.) The k-cups are not widely available and are kind of pricey. 2.) I think that the k-cups kinda make the coffee taste like plastic. 3.) I thought using the filter to add real coffee grounds was too much of a hassle.
Turns out though, it's not that much of a hassle to use the filter and I don't notice the "plastic" taste when I brew coffee that way. So yay! I'll be using it more often. Maybe I won't drink as much coffee since the pot won't be just sitting there full...and the coffee I DO DRINK will be fresh and hot.
Do any of you notice a plastic taste? Maybe it's just me. I do have a heightened sense of smell...and it's ten times worse when I'm pregnant.
Hope you all had a good weekend! My family is home now and all is right in the world.

P.S. A BIG THANK YOU for all the sweet comments on my last post. Comments make me smile. I know how easy it is to just read and click away, so thank you for taking the time to be considerate. It doesn't go unnoticed. I love all the blogs I read and try to comment as often as I can.

I agree about the plastic taste. I tried a cup of Keurig at a gathering a while back and I was really dissapointed. I say we have a mamas only camping trip, we can do yoga at sunrise in the middle of nature :)
Hello Elizabeth - Thanks so much for commenting on my blog and following. I laughed at the Poopy explosions. :-) I remember those days. Some foods also stain if you forget your bib...I think I'll be making more of this same recipe when I run out. I really don't remember the plastic taste when I tried the coffee at the Bed Bath & Beyond store. I actually thought it was one of the best tasting coffee. Your machine in red is beautiful. I love red in the kitchen. I'm glad you have figured out your Keurig.
Im not a coffee drinker :)
BUT my husband is. He'd be the real one to test this out. Hes picky with his coffee. One of his fav. coffees is IKEAS. :) We buy it any time I visit my parents, since they live like 15 min. from one.
It does look pretty tho! and I have heard its super fast, so thats always nice for a mom on the go.
Shh...I know I worked as a Starbucks barista but I love my Keurig. I don't notice the plastic taste. Some k-cup brands are better than others. I like Green Mountain. And I love my Keurig because I am the only one in my household who drinks coffee and I only drink one cup a day, so I'm not wasting a whole pot of coffe.
Seeing you on Facebook and now following your blog, I have concluded that you are one amazing young lady. It's amazing to me to realize that it had been over 13 years since I had last seen you or talked to you. You are so talented, beautiful, intelligent and, and, and...I could go on and on. Your family is such a testimony to God's blessings in your life. I wish you all the best in everything you put your hands to. Many blessings and love...Ruth
Sadly, I do waste coffee :( However, I am also one who drinks coffee throughout the day so I guess it evens out. I have realized that I have become quite dependent on it, so I may need to take a break and just get more sleep :) I, too, love hanging out with my kids. They always have something witty or clever to say and it usually makes me laugh. Kids are great!!!
Hi Elizabeth! I was going to reply to you via email, but couldn't find it. You should attach your email to your blog comments so I can reply that way! It's a great way to communicate! I just wanted you to know- I only give compliments I mean. I promise. And as far as fashion advice goes, I've been working on it for 5 years. He used to be a "that looks great" response to everything. I had to slowly train him that I WANTED him to tell me if something didn't look right. I truly wasn't ready for it the first time he actually told me something looked bad, but now I love it. It's so nice to have an honest opinion. As for the skirt, it is a little snug. I was sort of bulging out of it a bit. :)
